EMMIE KAY & MERRY LOU
It's so hard to find the words to describe these two. Our little girls are growing up so fast! I know people say that all the time and I swore when I was younger, I would never say the cliche "it goes by so fast" but when I had kids of my own, I found out how true that was. I can't believe how many memories we have shared in these few short years! How many smiles they have brought to our faces and how many times they have made us laugh and fall in love all over again! Our oldest Merry Lou turns 3 while our little Emmie Kay turns the big 1! For those who don't know, our girls were born on the same day, September 4th! They also share a birthday with their Uncle Sam and it's always a blast at the Storm Farm that week!
This year, we decided to celebrate early with a cake smash and cupcake party in my studio! It was chaos and fun! Typically I get to have mom chase the babies and set them back in the setup once the sugar kicks in, but this time it was my turn to do double duty, and boy was I sweating! But it's all worth it in the end when you get these spunky, happy faces!
Since Merry was born, my favorite thing to do has been to plan her birthday party. I never imagined I would get to double the fun and be able to plan a 2-in-1 party when Emmie was born! Last year, we didn't get to have a huge celebration because we were in the hospital welcoming little Emmie to the world. So this year, we went all out! I think the party planning is in my blood, if you've ever seen my Grandma Meyer's Christmas Celebration, you would know exactly what I mean. Between Christmas and Birthdays, I think our girls are destined to throw big parties when they grow up. When I was little, I looked forward to my birthday more than anything else and I hope my girls will feel the same way! I have the most fun shopping and getting custom items to make my party come to life! It's always fun to plan their birthday party and use everything for a birthday photoshoot that follows.
Did I mention our theme this year was Cotton Candy!? It was the perfect theme seeing as the fair always happens so close to their birthdays. Cotton candy is always Merry's favorite, and Emmie sure seemed to love it too! Both of our girls have a huge sweet tooth so we definitely indulge each year. I couldn't have dreamed of a better turnout when everything started coming together. I had a late start to party planning this year as we just moved and my schedule was crazy, but I managed to find the time and I'm so happy with how everything turned out!
This year, I have so many awesome vendors to thank! If you are looking for anything birthday related, you won't be disappointed with any of these vendors!
